The first edition of the competition has begun! Entries can be submitted until 31 March, and three winners selected by the jury will receive €12,000 each.
The KAF Young Art Prize is part of the Foundation’s activities supporting creators of contemporary art. It aims to promote outstanding achievements, encourage bold artistic choices and help artists at an early stage of their development.
By awarding the prizes, we want to enable young practitioners to experiment and explore new paths without having to worry about the immediate future. The competition will recognise the most interesting new developments in painting that have emerged in the last two years.
Painting in the spotlight
The first edition of the international competition is open to artists aged between 18 and 35. They can submit works made with any painting technique and on any material, provided it was created no earlier than 2022. The finalists will be selected from entries received by 31 March by a jury consisting of Antoni Burzyński, Pola Dwurnik, Sylwia Krupa, Katarzyna Młyńczak-Sachs, Oleksandra Pogrebnyak and Aleksy Wójtowicz. Their works will be featured in the exhibition summarising the competition, which will be held at the seat of Krupa Art Foundation in the Market Square in Wrocław in June 2024.
Three main prizes
The KAF Young Art Prize does not fully depart from the competition formula, but introduces three equal main prizes to be awarded to three winners – each of whom will receive €12,000! All the other finalists (a maximum of nine artists) will receive an exhibition fee of €400. Applications can be submitted by 31 March via the online form.
